Black Forest Cupcakes
Just place a small cookie scoop of dark chocolate cake batter in cupcake paper, follow up with a dollop of your cherry pie filling (homemade is the best), and top it with a little more cake batter to cover it. Bake and frost, using a very large star tip for quick glamour.
(1)Smoky Sweet Sauce
3 c. (40 oz. bottle) ketchup
3/4 c. apple cider vinegar
2/3 c. molasses
2/3 c. molasses
1/4 c. water
1 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. paprika
2 tsp. liquid smoke
1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. celery seed
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients; bring to a simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. 'Specially good used to baste and serve with grilled flank steak.
(2) Creamy White Sauce
2 1/2 c. mayonnaise
2/3 c. white vinegar
3 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. hot sauce
1/4 tsp. onion powder
optional: 3 Tbs. Hidden Valley Ranch powder
In a medium bowl, combine, cover, and refrigerate for 2 hours. Serve with peach-preserve glazed chicken.
(3) Tangy Tomato-Vinegar Sauce
1 3/4 c. ketchup
1 1/ c. white vinegar
2 Tbs. dark brown sugar
2 Tbs. Worcestershire sauce
2 Tbs. yellow mustard
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. hot sauce
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/4 tsp. celery seed
In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients; bring to a simmer. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve with grilled pork chops, etc.
